Terry Parker Blows Past Stanton

The Stanton College Preparatory School Blue Devils Varsity Football remained winless Friday night with a 62-7 away loss against the now 4-1 Terry Parker Braves.

Parker's offense came out firing on all cylinders in the first quarter as the Braves made it 12-0 after junior running back Kmorie Gilchrist blew through the line for a one yard touchdown on third down.

After a three and out on Stanton's next possession, junior cornerback Charron Dorsey returned a punt for a touchdown but was called back due to a Terry Parker holding call. Despite the setback, on the Braves first play after receiving the ball, junior quarterback Roman Doles tossed one to the back of the endzone to senior receiver Tyrek Williams to bring the score to 20-0.

Despite the defensive struggles, Stanton looked to gain momentum in their next drive. Senior quarterback Nabil Boulos aired it out to both Andrew Anton and Alphonso Foster to pick up back to back first downs. The Braves defense was too much for Stanton as a returned blocked punt for Parker brought the score to 27-0.

More offensive struggles continued in the second quarter, with Stanton throwing a pick-six on their next drive and a fumble later in the quarter.

The Braves were able to capitalize late in the first half as junior running back Charron Dorsey dove for the pylon as the clock read zero to end the half 48-0.

Stanton's second half defense looked like a different team after a defensive line effort forced a fumble, giving the Braves their first turnover of the game. Despite the change in momentum, the Blue Devils coughed the ball right back up, with sophomore defensive tackle Shyhein Gordon stripping the ball and junior linebacker Rashay Bradley recovering the fumble and taking it to the endzone for a defensive touchdown.

With the score being 55-0 in the fourth quarter, Parker was on the verge of mercy ruling the Blue Devils if Stanton did not score. In an effort to allow the game to go on longer, Parker, keeping all their players on the sideline, allowed for freshman running back Adrian Medine to run into the endzone uncontested to give Stanton their first points of the game.

On the kickoff junior kick returner, Tomas Smith took it 80 yards to the house to add one last touchdown to the utter decimation of Stanton's football team.

Parker moves on to face William M. Raines High School (2-2) next week to build on their four game win streak. Stanton will continue to aim for their first win next week against the Wolfson Wolfpack.
