Stanton boys soccer remained unbeaten Tuesday, scoring a 3-1 victory over the Wolfpack at Wolfson High School.

Much like most of their games thus far, Stanton dominated the time of possession in the first half. The ball remained almost entirely in Wolfson's defensive half in the opening minutes, and the Wolfpack's first shot did not come until the 21st minute.

The Blue Devils' domination of ball control manifested into a goal in the 16th minute. Senior mid Zach Wagner took advantage of his position at the far end of the six-yard box and tapped a crossed ball in for the goal, giving Stanton a 1-0 halftime lead.

For its part, the Wolfson offense largely struggled to create opportunities, but took advantage of the few shots it did get. In the 35th minute, sophomore Wolfson forward Mujo Omerovic nearly scored the equalizing goal with a shot from the right side of the box. But junior Stanton keeper Sebastien Brunner made a sprawling save, preventing Wolfson's first and only shot on goal of the first half from reaching the back of the net.

Wolfson's halftime deficit would have been greater if not for Wolfpack keeper Griffin Noel, who put up a strong first half performance. Noel made 11 saves, foiling solid shots on goal by Stanton's Jake Faltemier, Miles Andre, and Joe Alberto.

Noel's solid play did prevent Stanton from extending it's lead early in the second however, with the Blue Devils going up 2-0 on a corner kick in the 45th minute. Senior forward Miles Andre took the corner, playing a nice ball into the box for senior defensive back Ryan Dreibelbis, who headed it squarely into the bottom right corner of the net.

Just five minutes later, it was Miles Andre's turn to score. In the 50th minute, Andre worked his way into the right side of the box and got a shot past Noel, adding a goal to his assist.

Following Andre's goal, Stanton sailed to an easy win as Stanton head coach Steve Stone gave several of his subs playing time. Wolfson's Mujo Omerovic spoiled the Stanton shutout with a goal in the 77th minute, only the second goal the Stanton defense has allowed all year, but by that point the outcome was already sealed.

With Tuesday’s result, Wolfson has defeated Stanton just once since 2012. Stanton improves to 3-0-3 and will play at Sandalwood High School on Dec. 14, the second of four straight away games. Wolfson is 3-4-2, and plays five of their next six games on the road, beginning with a trip to Episcopal School of Jacksonville on Dec. 11.
