Stanton played well in the early going, as a 12-1 run gave the Blue Devils a 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Stanton was aided by a number of offensive rebounds and sophomore guard Charliee Evoniuk's two three-pointers.

The Blue Devil offense struggled later in the first half, scoring just two points in a seven minute period spanning the final two minutes of the first and the opening five minutes of the second. Stanton committed several turnovers and scored just six points in the second quarter. Fletcher led by five at the break after ending the first half on a 7-0 run, taking its first lead of the game with 32 seconds left in the half.

The momentum swung back and forth in the third quarter. The Senators were able to drive inside and put up points in the paint, but the Blue Devils hung in the game. Junior forward Gabriella Lonsdale grabbed several rebounds, Evoniuk hit another pair of threes, and Stanton trailed by just six heading into the closing quarter.

Within striking distance at the start of the fourth, the Blue Devils proceed to give up 17 points in their worst quarter defensively. Fletcher shot well, putting together a 10-2 run and extending its lead to 14. The Senators kept the Blue Devil offense in check and pulled away for a comfortable 13 point win.

Now 1-2, the Blue Devils next game is today, Nov. 24, at Fernandina Beach High School. The 2-0 Senators will also play tomorrow, at Ed White High School.
