A Day Trip to Little Talbot Island

Little Talbot Island and its counterpart, Big Talbot Island, comprise a chain of barrier islands at the northern end of Jacksonville

They are mostly known for their sun-dried, lonely-looking trees and branches

Here's one close up

This one sort of resembles the head of a duck, no?

Little Talbot Island is home to many more points of interest than just trees. Pictured here is an oddly placed beam that must've been swept away from its original spot

Who knows how old this fence must be

Intact shells were hard to come by. Here are two.

This tree stump had some peculiar looking patterns

At certain times of the day, the sun will hit the beach just right, illuminating the stunning detail of its surface shown here.

The gulls flew far away shortly after this was taken

The line in the sand here was probably made by a biker
