The Best Market in Jacksonville: It's Not RAM

Vagabond Flea Market is located in the Vagabond area (surprise, surprise). While it is quite a drive for most, one never has to worry about what the weather will be like. On rainy days, the Flea Market packs itself away in an old theatre turned venue.
Just like the Riverside area, Vagabond is home to many beautiful murals. It is also home to many new, up and coming facilities in the area. Community Loaves and El Jefe are some of the most popular places on the street.
Similar to the notorious arts market in Riverside, the Vagabond Flea Market is home to a variety of goods. From vegan food to small house plants to new jewelry, the Vagabond Flea Market has a little bit of something for everyone.
One of the things I love about these arts markets is the people behind the products. Locals to Jacksonville, Greg and Will own this candle shop. Both were very eager when I asked to take pictures, and they were both so excited about the newspaper. Vagabond has fewer vendors, but it allows more intimate conversation than what Riverside can.
Cosmic Crystals by Cody & Tara was from another world. Their beautiful crystal necklace charms and assorted jewels were all hand cut and sanded by Cody. Tara helps put the pieces together. “What can I say? I have a thing for shiny things,” Cody joked as I took pictures of their collection.
The next booth belonged to The Little Black Box, a local jam producer. The cute set-up with the fairy lights was too much to resist for a photographer like myself.
One of my favorite vendors was Anney Life Designs. Annsley, a musician at heart, recently found her new love, leather making. Her line of clean and well-made goods are for any gender, age, profession, or interest. She started up a few months ago, and she has already established herself in the arts making world.
The conclusion of the trip was a detour to Vagabond Coffee. Not a coffee drinker myself, I still found the general atmosphere so inviting that I couldn’t help but wander in. The smell of the roast filled the room, and it was kind of the place that you could easily lose time in. Between the toy animals in the front window surrounded by air plants to the pennants on the wall, one felt at home in such a lovely shop.
