Art and Culture in the Carolinas

Art and culture are innately human expressions. I set out to display cultural values, historic and modern, found in urban art and architecture. Each of these displays of art can be found in various cities in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Savannah, Georgia: Illuminated geode walls are displayed at the J.W. Marriott in the Riverside District, an area known for being rich in geodes and fossils.

Charleston, South Carolina: This vibrant mural depicts a majestic lion, a nod to the strong historic influence the lion of England has played on décor and architectural styles in Charleston.

Charleston, South Carolina: A mural draws attention to the South American influences in Charleston. What started with slave trade has transformed into an important and celebrated part of the local culture.
